IBLF Global meets 27 global anti-corruption and youth engagement experts
27 experts from Asia, Europe, Africa and Latin America
10 March 2023
A very exciting and inspiring first meeting with 27 experts who will be advising IBLF Global's research team on developing a Policy Guide on meaningful youth engagement in anti-corruption.
The project is organised and led by UNODC and the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) of Hong Kong in its capacity as chair of IAACA (the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities).
There was a lively discussion about what governments from Anti-Corruption Authorities can do to meaningfully engage young people in the fight against corruption - with the emphasis on "meaningfully". There does seem to be a gap between policy-making and youth engagement, and the intention is for the Policy Guide to bridge it.
All the ideas that were generated at this meeting and through the research conducted by our research team (chris morris, Prof Dimitris Ziouvas, Dr. Hady Fink) over the last five months will be inputted into the Policy Guide. The Guide will be launched towards the end of the year.
We would like to thank all the experts from Asia, Europe, Africa and Latin America for your active participation and creative ideas and suggestions, and to the members of the Project Partners' Working Group (Eric Ng, Jenny Chau, Lawrence M.W. Chiu, Mani Wong of ICAC and Leonardo Paradiso and Roberta Falvo of UNODC) for bringing us all together.
