Building Capacity of SMEs to Resist Corruption in Vietnam

Building Capacity of SMEs to Resist Corruption in Vietnam

October 18, 2016

With the support of the UK government and VCCI, IBLF Global started a project in Vietnam to help SMEs resist corruption. Through the survey IBLF conducted, we found a positive result that SMEs in Vietnam do not accept nothing can be done about corruption. This project includes training workshops and the toolkit. The toolkit currently is being adapted in Vietnam was initiated by the G20 and B20. It contains a "self-help desk" for private companies to exchange ideas, through which we hope to create a community of companies against corruption. IBLF conducted the training workshops in eight major cities in Vietnam. Plenty of multinationals are encouraging local companies in their supply chains to participate in the workshops.

In this video by Brook Horowitz, CEO of IBLF, published by UK in Vietnam,Brook emphasised the importance of helping small and medium enterprises in Vietnam resist corruption. Clearly to take the fight against corruption to the next level depends not just on introducing new rules and regulations, and making sure they are enforced. For a wholesale culture change, the whole of society, needs to be involved. SMEs, impacting the lives and livelihoods of millions of individual entrepreneurs and their families, are a critical component and catalyst of this change
